Cricket 06.17

Thankfully the College weren’t at full strength! A bad toss to lose saw us in the field, 40 overs later and the College had set us a daunting 315 to win. Unfortunately we were 193 runs short in our reply. Still a great day in glorious sunshine. Many thanks to all for playing.

A Landmark day for OJ Cricket and great victory !

An historic and memorable day for the Old Hurst Johnians Cricket Club making our debut in the Cricketer Cup. After winning the toss we elected to have a bat. A perfectly paced innings saw us post 323 for 8 from our 50 overs. Leo Cammish 78, Marcus Campopiano 70, Jonty Jenner 71, Bradley Gayler 33, Mike Harrison 29. In reply we bowled Old Merchant Taylors out for 118. Will Wright 6 for 27, Jamie Hutchings 2 for 25. Well played everyone, a win by 205 runs! Roll on next week where we will be playing Old Cholmeleians at Hurst 11:30am start.
