Rugby

Although the Old Hurst Johnians RFC represents the Old Boys of Hurstpierpoint College in West Sussex, the Club is open to non OHJ’s and indeed welcomes players (and non-players) from all backgrounds, educational establishments and continents. Re-established in 1998 following its previous existence in the 1970’s, the Club has playing representatives from Old Boys leaving as long ago as 1990 and as recent as 2002. Since the Club resurrected itself it has grown year on year and now can boast a proper and full fixture list from September to April every season together with various social events throughout the season.

The ethos of the Club is to play regular competitive rugby throughout the season without the demands of having to attend weekly training sessions, but also to enjoy the social side after the game. The Club therefore positively encourages all players to hang around after the game and to have a few (!) beers and bring along any friends and family.
