Brian had retired to Exmouth after service with the Metropolitan Police. He had previously held a commission in the army during National Service and later in The Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment (TA). His death was sudden after he collapsed while out beagling with the Stoke Hill Beagles.
Other interests included sailing and The Arthur Ransome Society. His widow Patricia has written in reply to a letter from David Moren-Brown (Fleur de Lys 1952}-
“T am very fortunate in having three loving daughters and we do indeed have many happy memories of our time together with Brian. He now lies together with his favorite spaniel, in a field in which the church where we worship stands”.
