Purser, William R C

Bill Purser died in 1991.

He was a Monitor and represented the College at Rugby, Hockey (of which he was Captain) and Cricket. He was a Sergeant in the O.T.C. On leaving Hurst he went to the College of St.Mark and St.John, Chelsea, where he qualified to teach. From 1933 to 1972 he was on the staff of Ingram Boys School, Croydon. In his later years there, he was Deputy Head.

In World War 2 he served with the Royal Artillery in the Eighth Army. In retirement he served as a Lay Reader in the Canterbury and Salisbury dioceses.

He was survived by his wife a son and a daughter.
