Forster, Sir Oliver
Sir Oliver died at his home in Reigate on 3 November 1999 aged 74.
After Hurst he was in the RAF for four years and then continued his education at King’s College, Cambridge. He subsequently went into the diplomatic service, ending up as ambassador to Pakistan from 1979 to 1984. He was also Chairman of the Royal Commonwealth Society.
He was appointed LVO in 1961 when he was First Secretary in Madras at the time of the Queen’s visit to India, and KCMG in 1983.
He is survived by his wife Beryl, his two daughters and his grandchildren.
