Forster, David M

One of three brothers, all of whom were in Star, David left Hurst in July 1938 having been a Prefect and House Captain. During the Second World War he served in the Royal Sussex Regiment reaching the rank of Major. Between 1946 and 1955 he was Stock Inspector in the Agriculture Department of the Sudan Gezira Board.

From 1955 to 1987 he was Managing Director of the Lowestoft Ice Company Ltd. He was also a cold storage and trawler owner.

His two brothers – Sir Oliver Forster (1939 – 44) and N M Forster (1940 – 45) followed him to Hurst as did their cousin E C M Haes (Star 1942 – 48).
