Edwards, John May

John died on 14 October 1986.
He had a distinguished War record with the Royal Artillery. He trained Africans in East Africa and later took them to Burma to fight against the Japanese. He continued his service, as a Major, in the Territorial Army.After the War he took up his career with the Road Transport Insurance Company and he became Branch Manager of the General Accident Fire and Life Assurance Corporation at Bournemouth.
He retired in 1980.

He was married in 1947 and he was very proud of his two children, who both went to Cambridge.

He is sadly missed by his wife, Hilary, his son, daughter and four grandchildren.
The funeral service was at St. Luke’s, Parkstone.
