Deane, E Harry
Harry died on 12 July 1990. He was active up to the very last moment; indeed, the previous week he had visited the Henley Regatta four times.
His childhood was upset by World War I causing him to be sent back from India to be educated in England. He attended Dulwich College and then came to Hurst for his final year. He was a man who believed in and upheld the very highest principles and ideals of the British people. He held fast on to the standards of Hurstpierpoint throughout his life. He was very proud that. his son, Andrew (Shield 51-56) followed him at Hurst.
Harry was a keen and good golfer and had many a game with Bill Alban at Harrogate.
